Passport Information
Application & Requirements
To receive a U.S. Passport you must fulfill the following requirements and complete the application process which includes the following steps:
- Complete the passport application

- Provide proof of American citizenship
- Provide passport photographs (Passport photos can be taken at the County Clerk’s Office for $10)
- Pay the passport and processing fees
Passport Fees
Passport fees are controlled by the Federal Government, please click here for the most up-to-date pricing information.
The application fee and the processing fee are paid separately. The federal processing fee (application fee) must be paid via check or money order, made payable to the US Department of State. For the County processing fee we accept all major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, checks, or money orders. Starting January 2, 2026, the Bergen County Clerk's Counter will not accept cash payments.
